File Formats

Most of our software tutorials are available in one or more of the following formats.

.swf can be either a Flash video or a FlashPaper document. If these files will not open for you, you may need to download and install the free Flash Player plugin, which you can find here.

.ppt is PowerPoint format. If you don't have PowerPoint, you can download a free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft.

.wmv opens an audio/video tutorial in Windows Media Player. If these files will not open for you, you may need to download and install the free Windows Media Player, which you can find here.

.pdf opens a printable tutorial in Acrobat Reader. If these files will not open for you, you may need to download and install the free Acrobat Reader plugin, which you can find here.

.doc is the format for Microsoft Word documents. If you don't have Word, you can download the free Word Viewer from Microsoft.

.rtf stands for Rich Text Format.  It is a universal format that will open in virtually any type of word processing program.

.htm or .html is a regular webpage, and will open in your default browser when you click the link.
