Library Reference ServicesAs the number of channels for obtaining information increase rapidly, even people who work in libraries can use help from time to time. Despite the appearance brought about by increasing library automation, library users are not expected to learn how to use the library on their own. When you need help in using the informational resources available through the Northwest Florida State College LRC, you may be only a question away from your answer. Reference service is provided during normal hours of operation. Reference questions need not be submitted in person. Users may submit questions by telephone by calling the Library Reference at 729-5395 or by using the Ask-a-Librarian @ Northwest Florida State College Electronic Reference Service provided by the LRC. Other services available through the Reference Department are library instruction for classes or individuals, and interlibrary loan for students and employees. The Reference Department sponsors several college credit courses that cover the use of the LRC and Internet information resources. In addition, in an effort to facilitate the use of the LRC, a wide range of help aids (such as the LRC Handbook, pamphlets and various library handouts) are made available to the public in paper format or via the Internet. |
