WebCT / Javascript

Before you begin using WebCT you should enable Javascript and verify the cache settings of your Internet browser. The instructions listed below will walk you through the process. (Scroll down for Netscape instructions.)

Internet Explorer:

1. Click on Tools.
2. Click on Internet Options.
3. Click on Settings under the Temporary Internet files area.
4. Select the radio button beside Every visit to the page.
5. Click OK.
6. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
7. Scroll down until you see Microsoft VM.
8. If Java console enabled (requires restart) is not already checked, click in the box to make this selection.
9. If Java logging enabled is not already checked, click in the box to make this selection.
10. Click OK.
11. If you had to select Java console enabled you will need to restart your computer at this time.

Netscape:

1. Click on Edit.
2. Click on Preferences.
3. Click on Advanced under the Preferences area.
4. Select the cache option
5. Select the radio button beside Every time I view the page.
6. Click on the Advanced tab at the Preferences window.
7. Make sure the enable Java radio button is checked.
8. Make sure the enable JavaScript for Navigator radio button is checked.
9. Click OK.
10. If you had to select enable Java or enable JavaScript for Navigator you will need to restart your computer at this time.
